Sparking Discussion

Season 12 is here and Caridad Svich’s Spark opens at Theater Alliance this weekend!

A beautifully simple story about family, Spark explores some major issues close to the heart of DC: women in the military, veteran reintegration, economic struggle, and the cycle of abandonment. Members of the DMV community work tirelessly each day to address these issues, so we want to involve them in the dialogue surrounding Spark and contribute to their organizations.

Throughout the month of September, Theater Alliance will partner with organizations like Operation Homefront, WAVE, and Calvary Women’s Services to raise awareness and community involvement. Individual Spark performances are dedicated to different organizations working to address play’s themes. Their representatives will take part in the dialogue following the performance, and Theater Alliance will raise money and awareness for their organization in return.

We will introduce our partner organizations through our blog and social media outlets each week, so that you can learn about our their work and how you might become involved or contribute to their effort.

Keep your eyes peeled for the opportunity to open a dialogue with these wonderful groups!
