With the launch of Theater Alliance’s 2011-2012 Hothouse on H Street Reading Series, we wanted to take the staged reading model one step further by incorporating designers in the process. With their insights and renderings, we are able to catch a fuller glimpse of the show being read.
For Theater Alliance’s first reading of Anthony Neilson’s dark holiday comedy The Night Before Christmas, we asked designer Kristin Campbell to share her thoughts on the play with us. Campbell has created renderings of scenic and costume designs for The Night Before Christmas, as well as an inspiration collage.

Campbell has also created a scenic design rendering for the London warehouse in which the Gary, Simon, and Cherry hold the Elf hostage.
